A first in Turkey : 2 months training project for Afghan mining engineers

Afghanistan is one of the richest country in terms of its underground resources, particularly lithium and gold ores. However, mining activities couldn't be started because of the war.

With cooperation between Mining Engineering Department(First 51-100 in wolrd ranking), İstanbul Technical University and Freiberg University(26th in world ranking), Germany and with support of GIZ, German Corporation for International Cooperation and Afghanistan Mining and Oil Ministry, 2 months training will be provided for Afghan mining experts. Besides, 3 technical trips will be carried out including 10 different mines.

As a first in Turkey, opening meeting of this traning activity was held at 11th July 2016, 12.30-13.30, at İhsan Ketin Conference Hall, İTU Faculty of Mines, Maslak Campus, İstanbul. Spokesmen below were joined to conference.
